Field Update: Peace Conferences, Plateau State, and a New Training Cohort

A summer of movement

The last two months have been some of the most active in Deeper Roots Foundation's short life. This update closes the gap between June's safari deployment announcements and where the mission stands today, in early September.

Global Peace Conference — Frascati & Assisi

In late August, our founder traveled to Italy to address the Global Peace Conference, speaking in both Frascati and Assisi on the persecution of the church in Nigeria's Middle Belt and the role faith-based security training plays in protecting vulnerable communities. The invitation to speak alongside other peace and religious-freedom advocates was a meaningful recognition of the work our partners are doing on the ground in Plateau State.

Plateau State — the work continues

While the conferences were underway, our field partners in Nigeria continued their presence in Plateau State — standing with the persecuted church, supporting local advocates, and advancing the One Voice coalition. The need in the Middle Belt has not abated, and neither has our commitment.

Sable Plains — second Women's Security Training

This month we return to Sable Plains for the second Women's Security Training, equipping women with the awareness and skills to move through their communities and the world with greater confidence. The first cohort exceeded our expectations, and we expect this one to do the same.

What's next

Safari planning for 2027 is already underway, the Rooted & Restored weekly gatherings begin September 15 in Redondo Beach, and the Allies of Deeper Roots monthly giving community continues to grow. If any of this moves you, the next step is simple: follow along, pray, or become an Ally.
